In 1929, Duke Currie opened the Norwalk Currie Tire Company with a few thousand tires and the help of his former employer, Norwalk Tire and Rubber Company. The business took off right away, pushing right through the great depression to become one of the largest truck stop and service centers on the entire East Coast. Now, 92 years and four generations later; Tim Junior, and Adam Currie are still going strong after taking over from their father, Tim Currie Sr. After joining the two shops at the one main location, 599 West Avenue; Currie's Tires and Currie's Automotive continue to lead the industry with the same principles and practices that Duke Currie started the business with in 1929. There's no waiting room, at least none that I saw or was directed to so you just have to stand outside by your car around where they're working but it wasn't bad since I wasn't there for more than 20 minutes.
