The Engine Exchange in Chatham, New Jersey takes care of major engine repair and replacements, no general automotive repair. After many years of working in general repair, owner Harry Spaven found that other automotive shops in the area did not want to get involved with these engine repair and replacements. In May of 1981, Harry opened The Engine Exchange to meet a need for drivers in the Chatham tri-state area. At The Engine Exchange, we work on both foreign and domestic vehicles and have even expanded to accommodate fleets and large trucks. Harry found a certified used Lexus built engine, with 30k less miles, transplanted in just a few days and made intelligent replacements to items like water pump to avoid future headaches and costly repais.
Highly recommend them.
By far, the service and care I received from Harry and The Engine Exchange is the best I've ever had not just in the car repair world, but any type of repair or service.
In fact you know he's honest when you come in to get the car and pay and even before you pay he give you a box (the box for the new repair item) with the old item there for you to do whatever.
Very quick turnaround and great communication on the phone dealing with questions about the repair.
I brought my truck to Engine Exchange after I got stuck in Summit and he was honest and up front about everything the whole way.
I have my reasons as to why am I still interested in keeping this car, but the gasket is giving problems again, and for sure, I will take it to Engine Exchange before making further decisions.
Or better yet just Google his name and you will be amazed of all the negative criminal history of this individual which lives in the toms River area of New Jersey, Furthermore we do not sell wheels and tires we are the engine exchange I don't know this individuals problem but I think he should seek mental medical attention ASAP
Harry the owner is very courteous and honest doesn't tell you that you need something that he don't also very reliable when your car is supposed to be ready it is done on time.
If you need a new engine for your car, don't go anywhere else.
