Why do my Brakes Squeak? There are many reasons why your Brakes might Squeak. Most vehicles driving around Sacramento, CA have Disc Brakes. Disc Brakes include components like Rotors, Pads and Calipers. Metal to metal contact between any of these components creates a small vibration. This vibration is what causes a squeak or squeal. As the Brake Pad lining wears thin this warning sensor meets the rotor. The scraping of the sensor against the rotor will cause a squeaking sound.
