In Phil's own words: "In that article, the real aspect to look at is my teacher. I can remember his name vividly: Frank Manley. He was a man that didn't teach through the enforcement of rules, but you knew you couldn't get away with anything; you didn't want to, either. He was an avid competitive ballroom dancer, and he had a '55 Chevy that was wicked fast! And he did more than build skills in auto repair; he built us into young adults. We all looked up to him. No matter what your skill level was in the class, he cared for us all equally. He designed the scholarship program and I was the first to receive it, if my memory serves me right. Here's to that nerdy ballroom dancer that could beat everyone down the track!"...
