WET WINDSHIELD AND ROAD SALT IN THE WINTER? POSTPONE THAT REPAIR! There will always be wet days either from the snow, rain or even worse road salt. Unfortunately in the windshield repair business water, road salt and resin does not mix. Just wiping away the water, road salt from the surface is not sufficient. Road salt can remain in the hairline cracks which can cause milky repairs and the water seeps in to the break on a windshield and if you try to repair it, the resin will not completely settled and cure. After the repair when the moisture completely evaporates from the break, the windshield crack repair will be left with ugly air pockets inside. Please consider to replace the windshield with hairline cracks under these conditions, we will not fix it. This will not affect small ROCK CHIPS if the water is allowed to evaporate before the repair.
