Night Latch Lock Kicked Open - Installation Of A Different Option. We found that the door frame was not stable enough to replace this lock with a new night latch lock after being kicked out! So we decided to cover the whole in the door with a Don Jo whole filler plate. And then drilling for the fresh installation of a deadbolt above the old application on a door that was only 1 3/8 in thick. We were lucky enough to find a area on the door frame that was stable enough to do a deadbolt installation and have a stable strike plate on the door frame on a storage unit.
