Car Tune Up Services near Glendora, CA

In this article, we emphasizes the importance of paying attention to unusual sounds and smells in your car as they can be valuable indicators of potential issues. We encourage you to communicate with auto shops about these sensory cues. Here are some key points: Unusual Sounds: Sounds like squealing or scraping when applying brakes, engine knocks or pings during acceleration, muffler rumbling or hissing, tire thumping, and engine chugging after ignition off are all signs that your vehicle needs attention. Smells: Different smells can signal specific problems - burnt toast may indicate an electrical issue, sulfur suggests a catalytic converter or emission problem, acrid odor could be from burning oil, a chemical or resin-like smell may imply a dragging brake or left-on emergency brake, and a sweet smell with a fogged windshield points to a heater core failure. Fluid Leaks: Puddles under your car can reveal potential issues - dark brown or black, oily puddles indicate engine oil problems, red oily spots suggest transmission or power steering fluid leaks, and clear puddles are typically harmless air conditioning condensation. Overall, we want to emphasize cars are good communicators through sensory cues, and it's helpful for both customers and auto shops to pay attention to these signs for timely maintenance or repairs.
