We had an amazing Fire and Rescue Extrication Event this Saturday hosted with the National Auto Body Counsil. There were over 50 local and volunteer firefighters with us to practice utilizing extraction equipment as well as learn from instructors in an informational session. Alongside using the equipment, they learned the safety and extrication procedures while working with hybrid and electric vehicles, how to deal with new metals and materials in newer car models, and situations with various airbag and restraint systems. Our very own Grant Gernhardt even used the jaws of life! Thank you to our firefighters who came out to experience this event and who work hard to keep our community safe every day. Thank you to Farmers Insurance and Allstate for donating practice salvage vehicles to make this event as great as it was. Thank you to Genesis Rescue Systems for providing amazing instructors; you made a huge impact on this group. And a big thank you to NABC for hosting this event with us!
