Don’t forget to change your spark plug oil every 5,000 miles 😂😂. This 2004 BMW 325I came in with a rough idling complaint. The client stated that first thing in the morning, the engine would shake, sputter, and almost stall. Fortunately we were able to duplicate this complaint! During the rough idle we monitors misfire data and found misfires present on cylinders 2,3, snd 4. After about 1 minute of idling the misfires would be gone and engine would smooth out. We inspected coolant level (full), engine oil level (full), monitored fuel trim numbers (all within spec), inspected fuel pressure (within spec), and finally that lead us to inspect the spark plugs. Once the spark plugs were removed, we found the issue!! The spark plug tube seals were leaking causing oil to contaminate spark plugs and ignition coils!
