Why does my car shake at high speeds? Tires and wheels are usually the main cause of your vehicle shaking at high speeds. A tire rotation and tire balance are routine maintenance services needed to maximize tire life along with maintaining even tire wear for maximum performance. Other factors can cause abnormal tire wear such as excess tire wear on the inside or outside edges, cupping and flat spots in the tread. This can be caused by worn out shocks absorbers and suspension struts that prevent the tires from maintaining even contact with the road. These type of worn out suspension parts can increase your braking distance and negatively affect the vehicles handling and traction. It's best to have your vehicles wheel alignment checked annually or every 15,000 miles to help maintain even tire wear.
