VLRV Education of the Day... More about your Air Conditioner.. The air conditioner is pulling the air inside the coach up into the return of the air conditioner (this is why it is so important to clean the filters), the evaporator coils remove the heat and this heat is blown off to outside of the coach and then the cooler air is returned back to your coach. To see if your air conditioner is cooling well, there is a test you can do. It is called a Delta-T. To perform this test you need a thermometer and a timer. Insert the thermometer into the return (where the filter is) and let it sit for a few minutes. Make note of this temperature. Then put the thermometer into the output vent or closest output vent if ducted for a few minutes. Make note of this temperature. Subtract the output temp from the input temp and this will tell you the Delta-T. I typically like to see this difference be at least 14 or higher.
