Check out the results we're getting with our new valve carbon cleaning system. Since GDI- gasoline direct injection came onto the scene in 2009, we have seen huge increases in both horsepower and fuel economy. The one flaw with direct injection systems is excessive carbon buildup on the intake valves. This carbon buildup requires a periodic chemical cleaning every 20-30k miles. This service is often overlooked, which results in cold start misfires, long cranking times, rough idle, catalytic converter damage and poor fuel economy. In the cases where the maintenance was missed we perform a more in depth cleaning, where we use a machine to manually remove the carbon deposits from the valves to restore proper function.
