With the mid summer heat, we tend to have more frequent issues with a vehicle's cooling system. A periodic check of your coolant is not a bad idea. If you are going on a road trip, pack a gallon of water so you can top off the cooling system if you have an issue. DO NOT open your radiator cap on a hot vehicle; the cooling system is under pressure and coolant will spray out and will burn you. Instead check the coolant reservoir to make sure your coolant is between the high/low lines. If you do experience an overheating problem, temp gauge rising or steam from under hood, pull over and let the vehicle cool down before checking the coolant.
