2013 Audi S4 - Engine Timing Components This beauty of an engine, in a beauty of a car, was making ugly noises when running. And running lumpy. You can't have an S4 in that condition, you just can't. After measuring camshaft timing with an oscilloscope (don't rely on what the computer says - come on now), it was found that cam timing was off a few teeth. Lo and behold, the chain tensioner in bank 2 had kind of come apart. No collateral damage found. Marvel at the intriguing intricacy of this timing setup (see video above). Swoon at the precision of this system. Take a swig of antacid and pay the repair bill.
