Price Shopping Part Two #2 complaint is the repair didn’t fix my problem. Of course it didn’t! They did what YOU told them to do INSTEAD of diagnosing it and telling you what you really need. That’s not very professional, is it? Well, they know you’re a price shopper and that’s all that matters to you so you have NO loyalty to them so why should they be loyal, or HONEST, with you? So, now they get to charge you for what you asked for AND they get to charge you for the repair you REALLY needed. How about that GREAT oil change or brake job special such as $29 oil change! You do realize the shops are NOT going to lose money on you, right? They MUST upsell you on other things in order to make money even if you don’t actually need anything else. If you say no to the upsells, they, AGAIN, are NOT going to lose money servicing YOUR vehicle. So, they have special signals, acronyms etc they put on paperwork that tells techs what NOT to do such as clean the filter off and reuse it, strain the oil and reuse it etc. THAT’S TERRIBLE! WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT? Because they are a business and they can’t stay in business losing money. The last problem with those “sales” is that maybe one of the six things they recommended was really needed. But you, thinking you could outsmart them said no. Two months later that one thing you really did need breaks and costs you a lot more. If you want to save MONEY find an honest shop and stick with them. They will save you A LOT more in the long run!
