FAQs

How often should I replace my brake pads?

Depending on the type, brakes begin to wear at 20,000-30,000 miles. However, not all brakes pads experience the same amount of wear. This is very dependent on how you drive and your environment. If you notice that your vehicle is taking a long time to arrive at a complete stop, hearing grinding, or screeching, it is time to come in for service. Servicing your brakes routinely is the key to saving you money and keeping you safe.

How long will my repair take?

At all AAMCO MN locations we strive to get your vehicle repaired as quickly as possible, however different repairs or services will take different lengths of time and we will never sacrifice quality for speed.

My transmission is slipping, grinding, overheating etc. What should I do?

At AAMCO MN our technicians are the experts in transmission repair, and we will run a free diagnostic test to help you determine the exact problem with your transmission. You may also want to consider an AAMCO Power Purge Service, this is a proprietary process that replaces virtually all of the old, degraded transmission fluid with fresh fluid to help prolong the life of your transmission.

How often should I change my transmission fluid?

Transmission fluid mileage and recommendations varies based on the vehicle and transmission fluid types. The best way to confirm that you may need a fluid swap is to check the levels. Likewise, if you are driving an older, heavy-duty vehicle you may need to service this more often. For the most accurate information for your specific vehicle type, please refer to your manufacturers recommendations.

I have a fuse that needs replacing, How do I go about this?

Burned out fuses are common issues. First, check and make sure that you are using fuses with the correct amperage (labeled on the fuse). Should need additional help replacing fuses or are still having issues with fuses, it could be a bigger problem. Get the help of our highly-trained professionals to assist you with all of your electrical system maintenance.
