🏁 Barber Motorsports Park Race Recap 🏁 The Chattanooga Tourenwagen team kicked off the season at Barber Motorsports Park with the World Racing League in GP2, facing a mix of challenges and triumphs that truly tested our grit and determination. Friday's testing was ... wet. Very wet. With heavy rain limiting our qualifying efforts and providing little useful data for the dry track conditions expected on Saturday and Sunday. Despite this, our team remained focused and ready for the weekend ahead. Saturday started strong, but we soon encountered a drivetrain vibration issue, followed by our transmission popping out of 4th gear. The setback forced us to replace the transmission in the paddock, costing us valuable time. However, our team's resilience shone through, and we managed to finish the day in P7. (or last in class if you were following along 😆) Sunday brought a fresh start, and we showcased our potential by qualifying on pole with the quickest lap time from Saturday. Midway through the day, we were comfortably in 2nd place. However, a shift linkage issue following a driver change and parc ferme saw the car stuck in 4th gear. Despite losing 22 minutes for repairs, our team rallied together and got the car back on track, ultimately finishing the day in P5 (not last - woohoo). We did manage to secure a few points over the weekend towards the Eastern and National Championship.
