If you are a Porsche owner or know anything about Porsche then I’m sure you are aware of the bore scoring issue that plagues many water cooled flat 6 engines. This is just an example of the last one we had dropped off for a ticking noise that another shop diagnosed as bad lifters and replaced all lifters, and camshaft on this engine. I was not surprised to hear this since many shops have not encountered this problem. Especially if they do not see many Porsches in their shop. This block was sent off to get the sleeves replaced at LN Engineering. Always always always be sure to have a Porsche specialist performing your services and repairs. This poor client lost over $7k replacing parts that were not necessary.
